I first discovered a passion for entrepreneurship while running the social media efforts for Maker Faire KC. The festival attracted brilliant thinkers working in technology and startup industries, and I was instantly hooked on the spirit of innovation.
Since then, I have thrown myself into the world of entrepreneurship with the hope of applying experimentation, customer validation and audience engagement models to journalism. I have worked on the editorial side of journalism as a multimedia reporter for publications including Silicon Prairie News, Missouri Business Alert and The Kansas City Star. I have also worked as a business consultant, developing revenue and product strategies for organizations including the Associated Press and Veterans United.
I currently work as a publisher relations manager at LION Digital Media in Seattle. In my current role, I work with 160+ publishing groups to create digital ad revenue strategies and develop partnerships for a premium ad network. I regularly complete industry research reports on the industry and develop marketing materials and training programs for publishers.
I am always exploring the intersection of technology, journalism and business in order to engage audiences in new and innovative ways.
